Hi, I’m Sara, founder and writer at Travel Continuum, where I write about my global travel experiences, with a special passion for the stars and sustainability. I believe in the power of education through travel, and here I share the tales and tips that I find interesting and inspiring. I hope that you do too.

continuum /kənˈtɪnjʊəm/: a sequence of elements where the extremes are very different, but each individual stage is barely distinguishable from the next.

Something that keeps going, changing gradually over time…like the seasons.

  1. What a variety of great shots. I love the candid ones of the couple on the beach and the girls in Builth Wells but my favourite has to be that gorgeous shot of the black bear!

Yes, isn’t he a darling? We saw so many bears that morning, but this was one of the few who bothered to look up towards us at any point!

  2. What a year you had! I bet seeing the bears in the wild was incredible! I’d love to visit Highcliff Cafe too. I’m from Dorset but have never ventured there.

The bears…well the whole Canada trip…it was all a very special time. I often take my mum for lunch at the Cliffhanger Cafe in Highcliffe, it’s a great spot with good food – but it’s understandable you haven’t been, as it’s right on the Hampshire border.

  3. What a beautiful selection of photos – That pigeon with berries has caught my eye and the spooky mannequins who definitely look a bit alien.

Thanks Heather, I love both of those too – I have loads of images from the Camden festival, but tried to choose a less obvious shot. With the Canada trip, however, I also had lots to choose from but went with the classic black bear…how could I not?!

So nice to look back on all the year’s adventures! I’ve been trying to be better at using my photos (other than in blog posts) – I’ve been making my mum a calendar for the last few years and am a big fan of those photo books.

Oh that’s so lovely Lucy – the best kind of gift, handmade and personal! I have to make a big effort this year to sort my photos, I know it will be worth it for the time I’ll save afterwards!

What a busy and varied year. I love your February shot – I wish someone would get one like that of me and Mr P, the ones you don’t know are being taken are always the best! Loving the Dorset festivities too – I will make a note for next year!

    • Sara Dobak says:

Yes, those shots are interesting because you see the opportunity then try and get the best result whilst remaining discreet – I’d hate to appear invasive in any way! 🙂

  6. Love the variety in your collection. And who doesn’t like pigeons? That’s a great opening shot. And your bear pic brings back many happy memories of our amazing fortnight in Canada. So where will 2017 take us I wonder?

    • Sara Dobak says:

Thanks Kathryn, I did aim to mix it up a bit and not duplicate any pics used in other posts – thought it was about time I included a shot of a black bear too 🙂 I have a few ‘inklings’ about 2017’s travels so far….. 😉
